Paratroopers Review

Paratroopers is an application (game) for the Palm Pre. I recently purchased it for myself after being blown away by the Trial. The object of the game is very simple: Drop your soldiers out of the plane, and tilt the phone to get them to land on the red X marked on the ground below. When you start out, the game is quite simple. But as games tend to go, as you progress, it gets much harder. Soon enough, your soldiers stop deploying their chutes, making it your job to tap them so they do. Not only that, but soon enough, some physical obstacles get in your way, such as buildings, and windmills that chop your men to little pieces.

Paratrooper ScreenshotI’ve played the trial over and over, because it is just so much fun! It’s always tricky when you try to jump more than one paratrooper, and they sort of scatter by accident due to wind or poor handling. Now although I have been disappointed that the Palm Pre’s app store still lacks that many programs and games, this is definitely the store’s best product. I purchased it for only $1.99 and I would definitely give this addicting game a 4/5. The only downside being that the game tends to lag just a little if you try to jump too many paratroopers at once (usually this happens once the sixth or seventh soldier jumps out of the plane.

So for anybody that happens to have a Palm Pre (I’d be surprised if any of my 3 readers had one), this is definitely a game worthy of a purchase.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! I’ll update this in a few hours after I go to sleep, wake up, and open gifts!

E: So my Christmas has been pretty awesome thus far. Mainly, I got a Palm Pre, 4GB or RAM, Modern Warfare 2, Halo 3 ODST, and some money for the mall! As a family gift from “Santa” we got a PS3, as well as LittleBigPlanet and Resistence.

Not gonna lie, this Christmas has been absolutely excellent!

Oh yes, and my little sister got me a Domo Kun plush, which I thought was pretty funny, and very random!

Three More Years

By Kris, December 21, 2009 11:06 am

Just think: three years from today, the world is supposedly going to end! Isn’t that neat?

Sorry about not posting yesterday, or any other day prior to that; I’ve sort of lost inspiration when it comes to posting. Now that we’re on Christmas Break, there isn’t a whole lot going on. But I guess I’ll add something about what went down yesterday.

Yesterday, I had a soccer game against a team we’ve already played. Last time around, we beat them pretty bad (like 11-0 or something like that). This time was about the same, except I had a hat-trick (3 goals in a single game). I double the number of goals I scored this session in that one game, bringing me up to 6. I don’t know if that makes me lead scorer (if not, then pretty darn close) but oh well, it felt good to score 3 goals.

Afterwards my parents took Lindsay and me to a nearby Sam’s Club so they could do some shopping. While we were walking around eating various samples, Lindsay and some random man made eye contact, and she called out his name. Turns out, he was her favorite cousin, and she hadn’t seen him in around 2-3 years. Yeah, pretty random. So they talked and stuff, and the whole time, Lindsay had the biggest smile on her face.

So yeah, that’s basically all that happened yesterday…oh, and her cousin worked in the cell phone department, so he let me play with an activated Palm Pre. I must say, it was wonderful. I always have heard complaints about the keyboard, but I actually enjoyed it. It wasn’t too small or too big.

I’d like to conclude this post by saying happy birthday to one of my best friends. I bet three years from now, his birthday will be extra special (kidding, I do not think the world is ending in 2012).
