The Road
For this particular movie, I couldn’t find a trailer that I could import into Writer, so I’m just going to use an image…if you want to see a trailer, click here.
The Road is based on a tremendous book written by Cormack McCarthy, and honestly, this is easily the best book I’ve ever read. If you ever are given the opportunity to read it, I highly recommend you do, especially seeing as how this isn’t a very complex book. The only thing I was confused about at times was how there were never any quotations when someone would speak. But whatever, that’s not really the point of this post..
The movie itself was good, although I don’t feel like it lived up its potential. I pictured the boy being a bit shorter, and Viggo Mortensen actually looks a lot like I imaged the Man to look. The atmosphere of the movie matched the book pretty well, but I thought it could have been a bit darker, like with more blood and whatnot. Overall, the movie was pretty cool, if you get a chance to see it, I think you should. The experience would probably be better if you read the book, too.
Expect another post later today/tomorrow. I’m going to see Avatar.
I read ‘No Country For Old Men’ by Cormac McCarthy, and he is a tremendous writer.
I will for sure look for this book at the library.
I just looked up the book on the local library catalog online. I’m #8 on the hold position.
I should probably have this book read by the end of the summer. -_-
Or perhaps just borrow it?
Or (if you already have a fancy arsenal of books) trade for it on Swaptree.com. My dad gets all of his books (and a fair amount of our 360 games) from here.
